I am not going to post about every project I completed during the six weeks I took off from blogging. I’m making an exception for this project, which I finished before Thanksgiving, because it provides an interesting comparison to the Hufflepuff Houndstooth Scarf.
Knit Picks
Hufflepuff Houndstooth Scarf
For HPKCHC Quidditch Round 4, we must make something that either (1) gets hung on a wall; (2) is a matched set; or (3) is outlandishly large, sparkly, crazy, or distracting. I’m going with option 2 and weaving a matched set of 5 houndstooth scarves (using the same pattern qualifies as a set). That’s one scarf in each of the four house colors and the fifth in House Unity purples. The Hufflepuff scarf is the first one I’ve finished.
Brown & Blue Scarf
I’m addicted to weaving. I love the rhythm of plain weave and how quickly I can see progress on a project. I have been keeping my loom clamped to the dining room table and throwing a few picks whenever I have a free 10 or 15 minutes. Even in a short time, I can see that I am getting closer to completion. It’s like instant gratification!
Ravenclaw Socks
Yesterday I finished the socks that I have been working on for the last five weeks or so. These socks are the first pair of my HPKCHC OWL project for this term. In order to meet the OWL deadlines, I have two more pairs of socks to make this month and three pairs to make in November, so I’ve really got to increase my speed on socks!
Blue Sky Rainbow Scarf
I love weaving! Yet again, as soon as I finished my last project (the Double Rainbow Scarf), I tied on a warp for my next project.
