I finally finished MAPLE LEAF the Third! It took a while to weave in all those ends, but I got it done. I finished MAPLE LEAF the Fifth also and blocked the two shawls yesterday.

The Neverending Spinning
I finally finished the yarn I have been spinning that is made from one ply of pin-drafted undyed cream-colored wool from Ohio Valley Fibers and one ply of an undyed brown 50% Shetland / 50% Mohair blend from Psalm 23 Farm. I bought both fibers in April at The Fiber Event in Greencastle, Indiana and started the spinning for this yarn at the beginning of May. I finished plying on July 29, but got so much yardage that it took a while to wrap it on to my niddy noddy so I could set the twist. I just finished setting the twist yesterday.
MAPLE LEAF the Fourth
I am a bit behind on my blogging! I finished MAPLE LEAF the Fourth on Sunday, June 27, in time to turn it in for the final round of Quidditch! I haven’t missed posting a finished MAPLE LEAF the Third, by the way. I am still not finished weaving in the ends. Soon. I hope.
Begonia Swirl Shawl
I finished the Begonia Swirl Shawl before the July 13, 2014 deadline for completing Order of the Phoenix Missions!! Unfortunately, when I submitted my B.R.O.O.M. to propose my Mission, I specifically said that I would be completing a shawl of at least 800 yards. I didn’t think this would be a problem as the pattern said it would take 822 yards. I ended up using less than 800 yards, so my shawl couldn’t count for full points, even though it was done by the deadline. I turned it in for partial points anyway.
Kitty Pi USA
Chris and I have three cats: Puck, Pepper, and Tiger. We only had two Kitty Pi (Pis?). Clearly, this needed to change. The Quidditch World Cup Semifinal Round required knitting a project of at least 300 yards, and the United States is one of the Semifinal teams. Solution: A Kitty Pi in red, white, and blue. Easy Peasy.
