As soon as I finished my First Ever Weaving Project, I tied on the warp for my second project, a scarf. I finished the scarf last Friday and blocked it over the weekend.
WIP Wednesday: September 24, 2014
I’ve got a lot of projects in process right now! I haven’t quite finished the ones I already had on the needles and I’ve started a few new projects.
First Ever Weaving
This past weekend, I took a weaving class at my favorite local yarn store (LYS), Knit! I planned to learn to weave sometime. After all, it was the only one of the four Ravelry-official crafts that I had yet to try. I did not have a specific timeframe in mind for learning to weave. I had a vague thought that perhaps I would try it sometime next year. Last year, I learned to crochet. This year, I learned to spin. Next year, I could learn to weave. But when I heard that Knit! was having a class, I signed up immediately. Why not?
WIP Wednesday, September 17, 2014
This morning I had a routine doctor’s appointment. After the appointment, I scheduled another appointment for October 1. The receptionist repeatedly said, “August 1,” even after I clarified that she meant October. This happened at least 3 times. It was confusing me, but at the same time I understand her perspective. How can it possibly be September? And halfway through September? And a Wednesday again? The good news is that I’ve gotten a lot of knitting done this week. Seven hours on a plane meant lots of progress on my socks. I can never sleep on a plane, and my seat was the only one in my visual range with the overhead light on for our red-eye home from San Francisco!
August 2014 Wrap Up
Since I’ve basically been on vacation for the last 3 weeks, I never posted a wrap up post for August! HPKCHC break months are always a little odd for me. I push hard to finish projects during term, and am glad to have a bit of a breather during the break month. At the same time, I want to clean up anything left from the last term and prepare for the upcoming term. This particular break month skewed more towards the taking a breather and less towards cleaning up and preparing!
