When I first bought the Cascade Pinwheel yarn from Nomad Yarns last April, I planned to make a scarf, hat, and mittens set for charity. First I made the Palindrome Scarf using one skein of the yarn, then I made the Palindrome Hat with half of the other skein. I thought the Irish Hiking Mittens would use the remaining yarn, but they did not. I was left with just over 100 yards of yarn, exactly enough to whip up a quick hat, so that’s exactly what I decided to do! I finished it yesterday.
Knitting
Ravenclaw Socks
Yesterday I finished the socks that I have been working on for the last five weeks or so. These socks are the first pair of my HPKCHC OWL project for this term. In order to meet the OWL deadlines, I have two more pairs of socks to make this month and three pairs to make in November, so I’ve really got to increase my speed on socks!
Irish Hiking Mittens
For months I kept telling you that I was going to make Irish Hiking Mittens. I kept putting them on my plan for the month, but never starting them. This was the project that got pushed off while I did other things. I finally finished them, just in time to turn them in by the Quidditch Match 2 deadline on Oct 6.
Mini MAPLE LEAVES
I wanted to make some mini maple leaves using the same yarn I am using for the MAPLE LEAF Shawls. I have a few different ideas on color schemes and techniques for dyeing the shawls, but I have never dyed an already knit object. I will practice on the mini maple leaves first.
WIP Wednesday: October 8, 2014
It’s been 2 weeks since I posted my WIP Wednesday progress, and it’s a new month. Most of the WIPs in my last WIP Wednesday post have been completed, and new projects begun.
