I haven’t posted progress in a couple of weeks as I’ve been visiting with friends and family. I’ve got a lot in progress at the moment!
MAPLE LEAF the Eighth
I finished knitting MAPLE LEAF the Eighth a week ago. I still have to weave in the ends and block it. I probably will do MAPLE LEAF the Eighth and MAPLE LEAF the Ninth at the same time, since I can easily block two MAPLE LEAF shawls on my dining room table at once.
Wearing of the Green Socks
I am one stripe away from starting the ribbing for the top of these socks. I haven’t knit on these at all in a week and a half because working with such small needles was causing my wrists to ache.
MAPLE LEAF the Ninth
As soon as I finished MAPLE LEAF the Eighth, I started MAPLE LEAF the Ninth. I haven’t gotten too far with it yet.
Scrubbies
Gazebogal of Ravenclaw Tower has been making a pile of scrubbies. I made one last month for Quidditch Round 3 (on the top in the picture below), since I needed a quick project and we had to make something another student had made in Round 2. I really like the scrubby so decided to make a bunch. It was a perfect thing to knit while visiting with family over the last few days because I have the pattern memorized, it’s an extremely portable project, and they are quite fast to knit. They are knit flat and sewed into shape. I am going to knit a few more and then sew them all.
Hufflepuff Houndstooth Scarf
The prompt for Quidditch Round 4 provides several options, one of which is to craft a set of items. I decided to weave a set of 5 houndstooth scarves, one in each of the Hogwarts House colors and the fifth in House Unity Purple. I’m three-quarters done with the first of those scarves, in Hufflepuff yellow and black.
I love how the houndstooth scarf is turning out so far! I also feel the need to look up the scrubbie pattern to figure out the seaming. I can’t picture it just by looking at the finished object.
First you seam the short ends together, then you seam the long ends and pull them as tight as you can before securing the ends. I was quite surprised when I read the pattern because I wouldn’t have guessed that they were knit flat!
